Borussia Dortmund's star forward, Jadon Sancho, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
The England international sustained the injury during training on Monday and will undergo further scans to determine the severity of his problem. He is expected to miss the rest of the campaign as he continues his recovery.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United in August last year for a fee reported at £78 million. The 21-year-old made a strong start to life at Signal Iduna Park, scoring six goals in his first nine appearances for the club.
However, his time at Dortmund was cut short when he suffered a serious ankle injury in February. Despite returning to fitness, he missed the end of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With Sancho now sidelined, Borussia Dortmund will need to find a replacement striker in order to maintain their title challenge. They have already lost key players such as Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham to injuries,Bundesliga Tracking so this could be a difficult period for the team.
Despite the setback, Dortmund fans remain optimistic that they can bounce back from this setback. The club has a talented squad and has shown resilience before, so there is no reason why they cannot overcome this latest hurdle.
In conclusion, Jadon Sancho's injury is a significant blow for Borussia Dortmund. However, the team remains hopeful that they can continue their title charge without him. With the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham also out, it will be up to other players to step up and fill the void left by Sancho.
